Under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a meeting was held to take the work on poverty reduction and increasing public income to a new level.
The President decided to introduce a completely new system for working with poverty.
In accordance with this system, the managers responsible for the "mahalla seven," regional and district khokims, and banks will switch to an enhanced work mode. Headquarters headed by khokims will be established in each region and district.
Banks and employment agencies will assist these headquarters in resolving issues on the ground.
It was criticized that bureaucratic barriers remain in the allocation of loans to entrepreneurs, and loan repayment schedules are not adapted to the type of business.
The need to adapt loan repayment terms to the specifics of agriculture, trade, and other business sectors was emphasized.
The authority to manage preferential credit resources for family and youth entrepreneurship will be transferred to district headquarters.
The task was set to lift 230 thousand families out of poverty by the end of the year. It was noted that it is necessary to develop a clear mechanism and algorithm for action in each area, to determine responsible persons at the mahalla level.
